My v150 is wearing out because of constant daily use. I checked out the Logitech MX Performance, M500 and G500 - the fancy mice with tons of buttons, hyper scroll, the latest laser technology, etc. After spending weeks of trying them out at Best Buy, reading reviews, changing my mind, amazingly, I’ve come to the conclusion that the v150 is the mouse for me. It’s the perfect size (2/3 the size of a normal mouse - I use claw hold, keeping wrist stationary and only moving my fingers) for my big hands. The laser sensor is accurate and fast on almost all surfaces. It’s corded so no batteries to deal with. It’s solid feeling but light. It stands up to lots of abuse. The scroll wheel is sturdy and precise, and clicks nicely when pushed to the left or right or when scrolling, even after years of abuse.

In short, it’s the perfect mouse for me.

I’m going to spend the 0 that would’ve gone to an MX Performance instead stocking up on v150s (since, sadly, it’s been discontinued).

I purchased my first one of these over a year ago. I have found it to be not only ideal for road-warrior use, but also better than any other brands that I’ve used in the office. Our meeting coordinators have commented on the clarity of my voice in virtual meetings, plus the quality of recordings produced thru this headset, even when connected via the mini plugs.

Great portability, great connectivity, great comfort, great sound. What else do you need?

This is my second purchase for one of my employees.

I have a Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - Up to 8 Hours of Battery Life that is great except for the dinky little track pad. Seriously - a Smurf would have trouble using this thing! So I decided a mouse was in order, and a small one at that since I like to go different places to study. I have tried both wireless and Bluetooth mice and came to the conclusion that a simple, wired mouse would be less of hassle to deal with (no batteries to replace, broken dongles, misplaced mice, etc.)

This little mouse is typical Logitech - priced well and seemingly durable. It has a cord length of ~ 2 feet, so bear that in mind if you have to wrap the cord around your computer to get to a USB. The SetPoint software is a great addition to download - it really lets you tweak the mouse settings and expand on its capabilities. I found out of the box that the cursor was a bit slow and the software allowed me to change that (note that it works out of the box as a basic mouse - true plug-and-play). I was also able to customize the middle button (the default zoom function doesn’t interest me, but the document flip option for Windows 7 Home Premium is cool and handy).

The physical mouse itself is small - another reviewer remarked on its small waist, and he/she was correct. I don’t have especially huge hands but the mouse is noticeably narrower than my other mice. It’s not uncomfortable, but I have worked with other mice that fit my hand better. The buttons have a nice positive click, and the scroll wheel is money. Plus, the price is right: if this little guy breaks or ‘walks off’ It won’t break the bank replacing it unlike my Microsoft Bluetooth mouse!). The smallish cord is actually pretty handy - it doesn’t get in the way on a small table like you think it would.

Nice price, slips into computer bag with ease, very responsive (no lag like my wireless and Bluetooth mice) - plus no batteries to tangle with. All told, this is a great option for the road warrior, student, or anybody who values simplicity. Finally the SetPoint software that you download from Logitech’s website really ups the ante on functionality.

I still stand by my original review of this mouse save for one aspect: The tiny ‘waist’ of the mouse did cause my hand to cramp up after prolonged usage, which I thought I could learn to live with but could not. So I returned the mouse and instead bought a Logitech LS1 Laser Mouse. Hopefully the new mouse works a bit better for me. If you have smaller hands, than the V100 is excellent. But those with average to larger-sized hands need not apply.

I received the webcam and plugged it into the USB port…done. I run my Toshiba A105 dual boot with either Win XP or Linux Ubuntu 8.10. The Linux install was simply plug and play. The Win XP install was typical - windows install manager battling the Logitec install. Had to run the install a second time to get Win to recognise the device THEN ask for the CD. Device works fine as expected. I wish it had more resolution for the price.

Incidentally, I broke the first one when I took it apart and attached the sensor to my telescope. It worked great at first at prime focus but when I tried making a more permanent mount to an eyepiece barrel, I pressed a bit hard and cracked the glass cover over the sensor. I am purchasing another because I KNOW it will work for both operating systems.

Like other reviewers I got these speakers to use with my laptop. I have an aluminum body Macbook and was looking for a quick and easy way to get more volume and audible bass out of it. These speakers do the job admirably, though I have found some small issues that make them a little less than perfect:

Pros:
- The speakers are relatively small (though not tiny), and come with a cool travel case.
- They run on USB power. There’s only one cord to plug in and you get both sound and power through it.
- They sound really good for their size. I can hear bass lines in my music again (something I couldn’t do through my laptop speakers).
- They are quite loud for their size–much much louder than my laptop’s built in speakers.

Cons:
- On the Mac it’s not exactly instant plug-and-play. You have go to the sound menu in system preferences and switch the sound output to USB before the speakers will work. Also, it doesn’t always remember the setting. I’ve had to go back and re-set it several times.
- I’ve noticed that most times I plug in the speakers they have a fuzzy, distorted sound initially. I have to unplug them and plug them in again before they put out normal sound.
- (Note that both of the above cons seem related to how the speakers work with Mac OS 10.6. They may not be a problem at all on Windows.)

Overall: I’m happy with these speakers and expect to get a lot of good use out of them. They don’t work quite as seamlessly or automatically as I had hoped, but they remain more convenient and portable than most other computer speakers I’ve seen.

Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks Deluxe Review

I bought this webcam to use with my laptop when I am away from home. I have owned several different webcams and my basic needs are a camera that can deliver 640×480 resolution at 30fps. This camera does a good job of delivering that level of service which is enough to provide a relatively smooth picture. The Logitech software for enhancing a picture in low light also works well as does their software that cancels sound loops that would lead to feedback. The one drawback I have found is the mount has insufficient spread to clamp onto my laptop’s display frame.
